'The Kerala Story' will not be screened in Coimbatore from tomorrow - Mall managements

While 'The Kerala Story' was screened at three malls in Coimbatore - Brookfield Mall, Prozone Mall and Fun Mall - the mall managements have announced that the film will not be screened from tomorrow due to law and order issues and due to lack of response to the film.


Coimbatore: The three malls in Coimbatore where The Kerala Story was screened will not be screened in theatres from tomorrow.

The Kerala Story, which created a controversy across the country, was released in Tamil Nadu. This was strongly condemned by Islamic organisations and political parties.

"The Kerala Story" was screened only at three locations in Coimbatore district - Brookfield Mall, Prozon Mall and Fun Mall.

In this situation, Islamic organisations and Naam Tamilar Katchi staged a protest by gheraoing malls demanding a ban on the release of the film.

Following this, around 1,000 police personnel were deployed there for security. In view of the law and order problem and the lack of response to the film, the theatre managements in coimbatore have decided not to screen 'The Kerala Story' from tomorrow in theatres in three malls in Coimbatore.
