Coimbatore: BJP workers staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore South Tahsildar's office against the Tamil Nadu government over the sale of illicit liquor.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held protests across Tamil Nadu against the government's failure to curb the sale of illicit liquor.

As part of this, bjp workers staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore South tahsildar's office.

Party's state farmers' wing president G K Nagaraj, Coimbatore city district BJP president Balaji Uttama Ramasamy and women's wing functionaries participated in the protest.

During the protest, BJP workers raised slogans against the deaths of illicit liquor and condemned the DMK government.

It also said that the Tamil Nadu government had failed to control illicit liquor and urged it to take appropriate steps to prevent it.

Bjp's state farmers' wing president G K Nagaraj told reporters after the protest,

The sale of illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu should be controlled. Through the protest, the government is being urged to reduce tasmac shops as well.

Tamil Nadu is on its way to destruction. The government, which has given Rs 10 lakh to those who died after consuming illicit liquor, is not providing adequate compensation to those who die in accidents.

We have been demanding for years that we should be allowed to die. The Tamil Nadu government is not bothered about the demand that the ban on nutritious food should be lifted. But it is promoting alcoholism which is very harmful to the body.

This is what he said.

More than 200 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers participated in the protest.
