Private club violating norms in Palladam - permission temporarily cancelled and action taken

The club, which was granted permission in 2018-19 in the name of Murugampalayam Health and Recreation Club in Palladam, was temporarily cancelled for violating the norms. An order has been issued to close the liquor outlet immediately and not to open it for 90 days.

Tirupur: A private club operating near Palladam has been ordered to temporarily cancel its permission for violating norms.

In 2018-19, a restaurant named Murugampalayam Health & Recreation Club was functioning at Palladam in Tiruppur district with permission and a bar in the name of Kokkarako.

Last night, a DMK functionary in Palladam consumed liquor and said that a bottle of beer was being sold for Rs 300 at the bar. He asked the bar owner why he was selling at a higher price.

For that, you have to pay every month to everyone from your DMK city leaders to the minister. An audio clip has gone viral on social media in which he is heard saying that he will be able to pay only if he sells it for Rs 300.

Excise Assistant Director Ramkumar, Divisional Excise Tahsildar Raghavi and Palladam Superintendent of Police Soumya conducted a surprise inspection of the private bar this evening.

During the study, it was found that the number of yesterday's stock was not properly calculated. When outsiders, other than members of the recreation club, used the bar, it was revealed that there was no proper parking lot. In this situation, an order has been issued that the private bar should not be operated for 90 days.

In a tweet, Minister Senthil Balaji said, "The club which was sanctioned in the year 2018-19 in the name of Murugampalayam Health & Recreation Club in Palladam has been temporarily cancelled for violating the norms. It is to be noted that the liquor outlet has been ordered to close down immediately.
