Bottle Traders Welfare Association Petitions Irregularities in the withdrawal of empty bottles at the TASMAC shop

More than 50 people, led by Raghavan and supported by secretary Selvaraj and treasurer Senthil, submitted a memorandum to collector Kranthi Kumar Pati. The memorandum raised the concern that despite industrially experienced companies from the Coimbatore region paying exorbitant prices for the withdrawal of bottles, tasmac shops in the district were not awarded tenders to tasmac outlets.

Coimbatore: A memorandum was handed to collector Kranthi Kumar Pati by more than 50 persons led by Raghavan, secretary Selvaraj, and treasurer Senthil.

According to the petition, the tasmac shops in Coimbatore district were not awarded tenders to tasmac outlets despite paying exorbitant prices for the withdrawal of the bottles by industrially experienced companies from the coimbatore region.

Instead, the tender was awarded to Subha Traders of the Villupuram district. TASMAC stores are experiencing irregularities under the guise of returning empty bottles that did not return.

TASMAC suffers a financial loss as a result. Tasmac bottles are not handed to vendors engaged in the cleaning business, but rather to the glass breaking company, resulting in the loss of work for vendors engaged in the bottle cleaning business as well as rural women.

More than 10,000 workers, including bottle cleaners and bottle vendors, have been affected and are at risk of losing jobs.

They came to present the petition and stood in a row of empty liquor bottles tied to a rope to stress their demands.
