Coimbatore: Kranthi kumar Pati, the District Collector of Coimbatore, announced that the book festival will commence on July 21.

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati stated during a press conference at the Codissia premises in Coimbatore that the 7th edition of the Coimbatore Book Festival will be jointly organised by Codissia and the Government of Tamil Nadu from the 21st to the 30th of this month.

Last year, 280 stalls were set up and Rs 6 crore in books were sold. This time, around 330 halls will be set up. We will also invite book readers and writers so that more books reach the people. Special arrangements will also be made for government school students to participate in it.

Similarly, we request that school and college authorities make efforts to ensure that students from private schools and colleges participate in this book fair. About one lakh people had come to see the book fair held last year and this time we are making efforts to come up with more.

They came from different states last time and presented books. Arrangements will also be made to bring back school children. Further, the basic amenities to be arranged here will also be discussed and all the problems that arose last time will be sorted out and organized in a good manner.
