Farmer sits on dharna in front of Coimbatore collector's office alleging land grabbing

He claimed that a private company had grabbed his land in Kondayampalayam area. Rajendran, a farmer from Kovilpalayam.


Coimbatore: A farmer staged a dharna in front of the Coimbatore district collectorate alleging that he had grabbed his land.

Rajendran hails from Kovilpalayam. The farmer had staged a dharna in front of the district collector's office alleging that his land in Kondaiyampalayam area had been grabbed by a private company called LGB a few years ago.



He was later pacified by the policemen on security duty and taken to the district collector to submit a petition.

Rajendran, a farmer, said, the case related to this was going on in the court. Though the earlier district collector Rajamani had announced to take action on his land, no action has been taken so far. So he has to restore his land. This is what he said.

Tension prevailed in the area for some time after a farmer sat on a dharna in front of the Coimbatore district collectorate.
