Nirmala college is protected by Police Akka app - Police Commissioner Balakrishnan in college Women’s Day Celebrations

He also pointed out that women are being given equal rights in the police force in all departments such as the rapid action force, heavy vehicle drivers and so on.



City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan was the chief guest at the National Women's Day celebrations held at Nirmala College in Coimbatore on the occasion of National Women's Day.



Social activists Uma Maheshwari and Fathima Siriya Pushpam participated on the occasion.



Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner of Police Balakrishnan said that the entire college is being monitored through the Police Akka app. If there is any problem among the girls, there will be a situation where they will not be able to go out and there will be stress and there will be a situation where they will not be able to go to the police station, so that the matter can be resolved amicably through the police Akka app.



If a young man threatens the student with a photo, the student says that she is on police Akka app and threatens her. The app has been developed to see how the problem can be solved through the Police Akka app.

He also pointed out that women are being given equal rights in the police force, especially in all departments such as the rapid action force, the dog squad, the heavy vehicle drivers and so on.

The city police commissioner also urged women to compulsorily pursue education.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Police Commissioner Balakrishnan said,



For the last one year, we have been providing solutions to the problems faced by college students through the Police Akka App. We are taking steps to protect the students studying in Coimbatore city or in rural areas. "We are enrolling students in schools to prevent dropouts. Last year, we enrolled around 150 students in schools. This year, we have enrolled 62 students," the commissioner said. "If there is any problem for studying in schools, we are taking steps to rectify them through the police Akka," he said.

A man along with his wife comes to the court for a warrant in the incident that took place in the court yesterday. Fearing that he would be arrested when the police called him to be produced before the magistrate, he took out a knife from his wife's pocket and tried to cause injury on his hand. Within the next few minutes, the police caught him and handed him over to the magistrate and the man who came to withdraw the arrest warrant ran away fearing arrest, he said, adding that security was being provided in all areas of the court.

A Women Help Desk is functioning in each of the Police Stations. Apart from this, as per the orders of the Tamil Nadu government, the police are visiting every school to create awareness about the POCSO Act. He also said that as is already the case, women and students will continue to be protected.
