Mini Stadium location Selection Work Intensifies - District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati

Government schools in Coimbatore that do not have playgrounds are being surveyed and the process of selecting a location for setting up a block-wise mini-stadium is underway. District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati said the stadiums would be set up once the venues are selected.



Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati inaugurated a playground set up with private participation by kicking football for the use of students.

Earlier, a request had been made to the Coimbatore district administration to develop a playground for school students in the government higher secondary school premises at Chettipalayam in Coimbatore.

Following this, the Coimbatore district administration, in collaboration with the community funding contribution of private company Walk-Karo, upgraded the existing playground at a cost of about Rs 6.50 lakh and a new football academy was set up and its inauguration ceremony was held.



Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Chettipalayam Town Panchayat President Rangasamy, Walk-Karo Executive Officer Navsath and others participated as special invitees.



Earlier, district collector Kranthi kumar Pati, who distributed football to the students, kicked the football and inaugurated the ground.

Following this, in an interview to the press, he said,



The stadium has been opened at a cost of around Rs 6.50 lakh with private participation. Similarly, similar school playgrounds are being constructed in many places in the district with private participation. Schools without playgrounds will be taken into account and a mini-stadium will be set up for Coimbatore district, he said.

Now, a site has been selected for setting up a mini stadium in Pollachi. He also said that the process of selecting the venue for setting up a block-wise mini-stadium is underway and that the grounds will be set up once the venues are selected.
