Breakfast scheme to begin in 61 schools in Valparai from Friday

The Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme has been launched in 61 Panchayat Union Primary Schools in Valparai from Friday. Under the scheme, school children will be provided with a variety of food items like idli, dosa, pongal, khichdi in the morning.



Coimbatore: The Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme in 61 schools in Valparai became operational from Friday.

There are 89 schools in Valparai in Coimbatore district. Of these, 1,110 students are studying in 61 Panchayat Union Primary Schools and the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme was launched from Friday.



On behalf of Valparai Municipality, 4 centres have been set up for 61 schools to distribute food through 12 vehicles. The food was transported from the breakfast project premises located at the Government Higher Secondary School in Valparai under the leadership of municipality president Azhagu Sundaravalli this morning.



In the morning, idly, dosa, pongal, khichdi and every day different kinds of food will be served to school children. She said the meal would be served to the school children around 8.30 am and the head of the school administration would take responsibility for it and implement the administration.

The school authorities will prepare breakfast for 15 schools in the suburbs of Periya Kallar, Chinna Kallar, Cinchona, Oopasi, Sakthi Thalanar, Water Balls, Kadamparai, Monkeymudi and Urulikal.



DMK city secretary Sudhakar, city vice-president Tha Ma Senthil, 10 Vaddu ward member Kamakshi and others were present on the occasion.
