Ancient Burial urns found in Sulur - Archaeologists in excavation work

Archaeologists are excavating a skeleton-filled mudumakkal thali found near Sulur in Coimbatore district. A 2,000-year-old old urn has been found at the site where a drinking water tank was dug by a man in Sulur.



Coimbatore: Ponnusamy has been living in Kaliyapuram near Sulur in Coimbatore district for the past 60 years.

The archaeologists who rushed to the spot immediately carried out the 2000-year-old excavation.



Copper items have also been found along with this old man's thali. There were also skeletons of the deceased in the public thali.

It will be taken to the Archaeological Museum in Coimbatore by the archaeologists and will carry out studies. The discovery of the skeletons has spread among the general public in the area and has come as a surprise.Speaking on the occasion, Ponnusamy said that the 2,000-year-old old old old mudu makkal thali has been found while digging a pit for the construction of the house.

Revenue department officials said that a 2,000-year-old old old mud-people's urn has been found here. Archaeologists are studying this. That the thali will be taken to the Archaeological Survey of India in Coimbatore and studies will be carried out.
