Wild elephants damage temple buildings, guava trees in Valparai

Two wild elephants entered the 10-acre area of Puthu Thottam Estate near Valparai, damaged guava trees in the garden and demolished the nearby Muneeswaran temple buildings.


Coimbatore: Residents have urged the forest department to drive away wild elephants into the dense forest so that they do not enter the residential area.



People are in fear as wild elephants broke and damaged muneeswaran temple buildings near Valparai and guava trees near the settlement.

The movement of wild elephants is on the rise in Valparai in Coimbatore district. Wild elephants have been leaving the forest area and entering residential areas, damaging the home-grown gardens and houses.

People are scared because of this. The forest department is in the process of preventing elephants from entering the village.



In this situation, two wild elephants left the forest area in broad daylight in the 10-acre area of Puthu Thottam Estate near Valparai and broke the guava tree in the garden near the settlement and ate the fruits and uprooted the guava tree.



Similarly, muneeswaran entered the temple premises in the area and damaged the wall and set. On receiving the information, the forest department chased the elephants out of the area into the forest area. People have demanded that the forest department drive the wild elephants to the dense forest area as the movement of wild elephants is on the rise.
