International Conference on Tamil Computing Showcases Innovations in Artificial Intelligence and Tamil Language held in KCT

KCT in association with INFITT, a California-registered organisation which has a core objective of advancing Tamil Computing across various applications, making Tamil as accessible and usable as English held a conference to take forward Tamil Computing.


Coimbatore: The International Forum for Information Technology in Tamil (INFITT), a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Tamil Computing, has proudly announced its collaboration with Kumaraguru College of Technology to host the International Conference on Tamil Computing. The event is taking place at The Tamil Research Center of Kumaraguru College of Technology on October 13-14, 2023.



INFITT, registered in California, USA, has a core objective of advancing Tamil Computing across various applications, making Tamil as accessible and usable as English. The conference comprises two integral components: a series of invited talks and a dedicated platform for young researchers to present their work. This unique opportunity allows these emerging scholars to showcase their research to a global audience.

Theme: “Enabling Smartness in Tamil Computing Using AI Technology”

The conference focuses on the theme “Enabling smartness in Tamil Computing using AI technology.” It serves as a remarkable forum for young researchers to share their insights with peers from computer and engineering faculties. Academics and scholars from diverse segments also presented their cutting-edge works on October 13th.

Engaging Sessions and Interactive Tutorials

The event featured a series of engaging sessions where experts discussed the integration of Artificial Intelligence in Tamil Computing. On October 14th, 16 young researchers presented their innovative research findings, highlighting the significant strides made in the field. Additionally, interactive tutorials were conducted, enhancing participants’ understanding of the latest advancements.

Recognizing Excellence

To encourage these young researchers to explore new avenues and elevate their contributions to Tamil Computing, INFITT plans to award the Best Paper among the presenters. This initiative aims to inspire future pioneers in the realm of Tamil language technology.

The conference organizers have embraced technology by distributing the conference book as digital content through QR codes, ensuring easy accessibility for all attendees. Approximately 300 enthusiasts have registered for this two-day event, reflecting the widespread interest and enthusiasm for Tamil Computing and its integration with Artificial Intelligence.
