Grand Kumbabishekam Ceremony at Krishnaswami Temple near Thudiyalur

A splendid Kumbabishekam ceremony took place at the revered Sri Krishnaswami Temple located near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore which saw the participation of thousands of devotees.


In a spiritually uplifting atmosphere, the Sri Krishnaswami Temple near Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, was abuzz with devotion as a grand Kumbabishekam ceremony was conducted. The temple, sanctified by the divine presence of deities such as Sri Ulagalanda Perumal and Sri Selva Vinayagar, has been a spiritual cornerstone for several centuries. The temple recently underwent various renovation and restoration processes, culminating in the elaborate Kumbabishekam ceremony.

The temple premises were filled with the echoes of divine chants as the key rituals commenced around 9 AM, marking the beginning of the celebrations. The ceremonies included Vastu Homam, Poornahoothi, and Deepaaradhana, followed by a procession carrying the deity from Sri Dharmarasa Temple.





Several significant rituals such as the Yagasalai Pravesam, the First Kala Yaagavelvi Poojas, and the Parivara Kalasa Poojas were performed, enriching the spiritual ambiance. The ceremonies continued into the following day, commencing with the Second Kala Yaagavelvi Poojas at 6 AM, involving rituals like Kalasa Pooja, Deepaaradhana, and Homam.

The major highlight was the Maha Kumbabishekam ceremony, which took place at 9 AM on Friday. Sacred waters, collected with profound rituals from Yaga Shalas, were sanctified and sprinkled over the temple’s Gopurams (towers), marking the completion of the consecration process. The divine atmosphere was further elevated by the resounding chants of “Govinda Govinda” by the gathered devotees.





Distinguished spiritual leaders including Perur Aadheenam Santhalinga Maruthaasala Adigalar, Siravai Aadheenam Kumarakuruparar Swamigal, and Keelamar Siravaiyaatheenam Ramananda Kumarakuruparar Swamigal graced the ceremony, guiding the rituals and participating in the divine celebrations.

Each participant and devotee present at the ceremony were offered Annadhanam (a religious offering of food), symbolizing the spirit of sharing and communal harmony that pervaded the event.
