New COVID-19 Case Reported in Coimbatore; Tamil Nadu Sees 40 New Infections Today

Coimbatore reports one new COVID-19 case as Tamil Nadu confirms 40 new infections and one death from Thiruvallur. Chennai and Chengalpattu see a spike in cases, while the state’s active cases reach 172.


Coimbatore: Today, Tamil Nadu reported 40 new COVID-19 cases, with one additional case identified in Coimbatore. The state also saw 23 individuals being discharged after recovery. In a sad turn of events, a resident from Thiruvallur succumbed to the virus.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases undergoing treatment in Tamil Nadu currently stands at 172. Chennai recorded the highest number of new cases today, with 25 infections, followed by Chengalpattu with 6 confirmed cases.

In Coimbatore, the detection of one new case has added to the district’s caseload. However, there was some relief as one patient in the district was discharged after recovery. Presently, there are 6 individuals in Coimbatore who are still receiving treatment for COVID-19.

This recent surge in cases reminds the public of the importance of vigilance and adherence to safety protocols. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to follow guidelines, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, to curb the spread of the virus.
