Coimbatore Reports a COVID-19 Related Death, First in Several Months

Coimbatore witnesses a COVID-19 fatality, the first in many months, amid a slight rise in infection cases across Tamil Nadu.


Coimbatore: In a concerning development, Coimbatore reported a COVID-19 related death today (2.1.24), marking the first such incident in the city after several months. This comes as a reminder of the virus's lingering presence.

Additionally, Tamil Nadu has seen 21 new infections today, with 14 patients being discharged. Currently, 187 individuals are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the state, including 10 in Coimbatore. This recent case underscores the ongoing vigilance required in the fight against the pandemic and the importance of continued adherence to health guidelines.
