Coimbatore: Anand Kumar, Director at Immunologicals Disease Prevention Company in Hyderabad, has announced significant advancements in vaccine development against Dengue, Chikungunya, and other diseases. Addressing the media in Pollachi, Kumar highlighted that India is a major contributor to global vaccine production, accounting for 60% of the world's supply. During the event organized by the Pollachi Rotary Club to honor Kumar, he reassured that the new variants of coronavirus pose no threat due to India's robust vaccine production capabilities. He emphasized the importance of forest conservation, noting the increased interaction between humans and wildlife can lead to disease transmission. Kumar's contributions to the medical field, especially during the pandemic, were acknowledged with a management award by the Rotary Club.
