Gov Tamilisai Soundararajan Asserts Respect for President, Discusses non-invitation for Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration

She responded to queries regarding the non-invitation of the President to the Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration, emphasizing that the temple is a matter of joy for everyone and invitations are the prerogative of the organizing committee.


Coimbatore: Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Puducherry and Telangana, recently addressed the media in Coimbatore, focusing on the respect and honors due to the President of India. She responded to queries regarding the non-invitation of the President to the Ram Temple inauguration, emphasizing that the temple is a matter of joy for everyone and invitations are the prerogative of the organizing committee. She urged not to politicize the matter of invitations.

Soundararajan also discussed the secular ethos of India and criticized certain state governments, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala, for allegedly exhibiting anti-Hindu sentiments. She highlighted the plight of Ayyappa devotees facing difficulties due to inadequate facilities and called for better arrangements for pilgrims.

She further commented on the unpredictable nature of weather and crowd management, stating that governments should anticipate and prepare for various needs, especially during large gatherings.

Lastly, Soundararajan addressed the demands for posthumously awarding the Bharat Ratna to the late DMDK leader Vijayakanth, acknowledging his fans' right to make such requests and expressing her respect for him. She mentioned the Prime Minister's admiration for Vijayakanth, evidenced by a dedicated article, indicating the leader's national significance.
