Hindu Makkal Katchi Demands Public Holiday for Ayodhya Ram Temple Kumbhabhishekam

The Hindu Makkal Katchi in Coimbatore demands a public holiday in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Kumbhabhishekam of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, highlighting widespread interest among Hindus.

Coimbatore: The Hindu Makkal Katchi has called for a public holiday in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of the Kumbhabhishekam (consecration ceremony) of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, scheduled for the 22nd of this month. The group submitted a petition to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, urging the state government to declare the day a public holiday to allow Hindus across the state to participate in and observe the ceremony.

During a recent event in Coimbatore's Selvapuram area, Lotus Manikandan, leader of the movement, along with other officials, emphasized the significance of the Kumbhabhishekam. They carried images of Lord Ram and flags to underscore their request.

Lotus Manikandan stated that Hindus across India are preparing to witness the event, with many planning to attend in person and others getting ready to conduct prayers and light lamps at their homes. He also pointed out the keen interest among people to watch the live telecast of the event. The leader compared this to the facilities provided to pilgrims visiting sacred sites like Mecca and Jerusalem and requested similar concessions for those visiting the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
