Elderly Woman Faints Seeking Pension Aid at Coimbatore Collector's Office

An 81-year-old woman from Ramarajapuram, Coimbatore, fainted while submitting a petition for elderly assistance at the district collector's office.

Coimbatore: A public grievance redressal camp, a regular event every Monday at the Coimbatore District Collector's office, witnessed an unsettling incident today. Palaniyammal (81), an elderly woman from Ramarajapuram, Coimbatore, had come to submit a petition for senior citizen assistance. During the process, she suddenly fainted and collapsed.

The office staff quickly responded and arranged for a 108 emergency ambulance to transport Palaniyammal to the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital for immediate medical attention.

This incident has caused concern at the collector's office, especially following a previous case where an elderly person who came to submit a petition died of a heart attack. The latest occurrence of an elderly woman fainting has heightened the need for better arrangements and quick medical assistance at such public gatherings.
