Marudhamalai Temple Announces Thaipusam Festival Dates

The Marudhamalai Temple administration has released the schedule for the Thaipusam festival, detailing the events and timings for the auspicious occasion.


Coimbatore: The Marudhamalai Temple authorities have declared the dates and schedule for this year's Thaipusam festival. The festivities are set to commence on the 19th with the flag hoisting at 7 AM. The celestial wedding ceremony will take place between 9 and 10 AM on the 24th. The following day, at 7:30 AM, the procession around the temple streets will begin with the deity mounted on the white elephant vahana. At 11:30 AM, the Thaipusam chariot pulling event will be observed. The float festival is scheduled for the 26th. On the 25th and 26th, devotees will not be permitted to use the hill path to the temple and are advised to access the temple via the stairway for darshan. The festival arrangements are being overseen by the temple's Deputy Commissioner Harshini, along with the Board of Trustees, Chairman Jayakumar, and members Maheshkumar, Premkumar, Kanagaraj, and Suganyarasaratnam.
