Tea Shop Employee Rescues and Safely Hands Over Baby Peacock to Forest Department in Coimbatore

Edison, a tea shop employee, heroically rescued a baby peacock that fell in the parking area near Coimbatore District Collector's office and handed it over to the Forest Department.


Coimbatore: A heartwarming incident unfolded today in the parking area of the Coimbatore District Collector's office, where a female peacock with its chick was spotted roaming. During this, a hawk attempted to snatch the baby peacock. The mother peacock immediately sprang into action, chasing away the hawk and protecting her chick. Amidst this drama, the baby peacock fell from the overhead shelter into the parking area.



Edison, an employee working at a nearby tea shop, witnessed the event and swiftly came to the rescue of the fallen baby peacock. He carefully picked up the chick and safely handed it over to the Forest Department. The officials from the department expressed their gratitude to Edison for his quick action and mentioned their plans to nurture the baby peacock and later release it into a suitable wildlife habitat. This act of kindness and quick thinking by Edison has been widely appreciated, highlighting the importance of wildlife conservation and public involvement in protecting local fauna.
