15,000 People Book Train Tickets from Coimbatore for Pongal Festival

Railway officials in Coimbatore announce that 15,000 people have booked train tickets to travel for the Pongal festival on January 15.

Coimbatore: With the Pongal festival approaching on January 15, a significant number of Coimbatore residents are preparing to travel to their hometowns. Railway officials reported today, January 13, that around 15,000 people have made reservations on 22 trains departing from Coimbatore for the festival.

This surge in bookings reflects the importance of Pongal as a major festival in Tamil Nadu and the travel rush associated with it. The railway department is managing this high demand for travel, ensuring that residents can reach their destinations to celebrate with their families. This year's Pongal is expected to see a large movement of people in and out of Coimbatore, celebrating the harvest festival.
