Kumaraguru Institutions Announces Rs 275 Crore 'Knowledge Centre' in Coimbatore

Kumaraguru Institutions to establish a groundbreaking 'Knowledge Centre' in Coimbatore with an investment of Rs 275 Crore, aiming to create direct and indirect employment for 8000 people.

Coimbatore: Kumaraguru Institutions is taking a giant leap in transforming Coimbatore's IT and technological landscape by announcing the establishment of a 'Knowledge Centre' with a planned investment of Rs 275 Crore. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the region's development as a tech hub.

The founder of Kumaraguru Institutions, Dr. N. Mahalingam, laid the foundation for Coimbatore's IT revolution in 2004 by establishing a public-private partnership with the Software Technology Park of India (STPI). Kumaraguru Institutions played a pivotal role by hosting Cognizant's first development centre in 2005 and constructing Coimbatore’s first Tech Park in 2008, housing major companies like CTS, Ford, and Robert Bosch.

The new 'Knowledge Centre' announced during the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024 is set to be a game-changer for the region. Over the next three years, this project will create a conducive environment for both national and global companies to set up their workspaces and research & development centers.

This ambitious project is not just a technological venture but also a major economic catalyst. It is expected to create direct employment for 6000 individuals and indirect employment for another 2000, significantly boosting the local economy. The Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) will provide necessary infrastructural support and regulatory facilitation, as confirmed by the MoU signed between Kumaraguru Institutions and Guidance Tamil Nadu, the nodal agency for investment promotion.

This development is a testament to the vision of Kumaraguru Institutions in fostering innovation and technology growth in Coimbatore, further solidifying the city's position as a leading IT and technology services sector.
