Sudden Halt in Booking for Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Train Raises Concerns

Travelers in Coimbatore express frustration over the sudden halt in booking from February 1, 2024 for the Vande Bharat train to Bengaluru, questioning the necessity and lack of clear communication from Southern Railway.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train, launched on December 29 by Prime Minister Modi, has halted bookings from February 1st, leading to significant passenger discontent.

Despite high demand for this daily service since January 1, the sudden booking halt has raised questions and concerns. Passengers are puzzled by the necessity of this halt, especially considering that typical train bookings start 120 days in advance.

This move, not clearly communicated by Southern Railway, has sparked criticism and suspicion among the public, with some even suspecting an attempt to extend the train's route to Ernakulam.

However, railway officials have denied such possibilities. The lack of transparency in this decision has led to significant criticism of Southern Railway's management.

Similar issues have also arisen with the Coimbatore-Bengaluru Uday Express, where booking has been halted from April 7, further compounding the confusion and frustration among travelers.
