Veterinary Camp for Livestock Sterility Treatment Held in Udumalai

A veterinary camp focusing on livestock sterility treatments was successfully conducted in Udumalai, under the guidance of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.


Coimbatore: In an important initiative for local farmers, the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University recently organized a veterinary camp near Kudimangalam, Udumalai, in the Tiruppur district. The camp, held in Kollupalayam village, focused on addressing livestock sterility issues.

The camp was led by Dr. Kumaravel, Principal of the Veterinary College and Research Institute. Key faculty members, including the head of the Gynecology Department Dr. Senthilkumar, Associate Professor Veena, Assistant Professor Dr. Kalyan, Surgery Department head Dr. Sivasankar, and Assistant Professor Dr. Balamurugan from the Animal Nutrition Department, participated in the camp. They engaged in discussions with farmers and provided detailed explanations about the sterility treatment procedures.

More than 30 dairy farmers attended the camp, seeking treatment for sterility issues in their dairy cows. Following the medical camp, the farmers were provided with manuals and guidance on micronutrient supplements and proper livestock care, distributed by the Veterinary College.

This camp is part of a larger effort to support the agricultural community by enhancing the health and productivity of livestock, which is crucial for the livelihood of many in the region.
