BJP State Leader Annamalai Addresses at Rekla Race in Vellalore, Coimbatore

The Rekla race in Vellalore, Coimbatore, organized by the BJP, was inaugurated by BJP State Leader Annamalai, who later criticized Chief Minister Stalin's statements at the opening of a stadium named after Kalaignar Karunanidhi.

Coimbatore: The BJP South District organized a Rekla race in Vellalore, Coimbatore, on January 28.

Over 200 Rekla carts and bulls from various districts participated in the event. BJP State Leader Annamalai inaugurated the race and distributed prizes to the winners.

Following the race, Annamalai interacted with members of the public who joined BJP that day.

In his address to the media, Annamalai criticized Chief Minister Stalin for his remarks made during the inauguration of a stadium named after Kalaignar Karunanidhi. He claimed that Stalin spoke untruths and credited Prime Minister Modi for allowing Jallikattu and Rekla races to happen.

Annamalai highlighted that the ban on Rekla races was first imposed in 2006. He criticized Jairam Ramesh for labeling Jallikattu as a barbaric sport and the Congress government for including bulls in the list of animals not to be exhibited, which led to the ban of Jallikattu and Rekla.

He concluded by stating that the BJP government removed bulls from this list, facilitating the resurgence of these traditional sports.
