Surveillance Camera Inauguration Ceremony in Netaji Nagar

The event marked the installation of 32 surveillance cameras in Netaji Nagar, enhancing security and monitoring to deter criminal activities and assist in the identification of crimes, with an 80% city-wide CCTV coverage goal under the Commissioner's directive.


Coimbatore: In a significant move towards enhancing public safety and security, the Netaji Nagar Extension Residents Welfare Association in collaboration with the Coimbatore City Police's D1 Police Station, hosted a surveillance camera inauguration ceremony on February 8th. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Saravanakumar, inaugurated 32 surveillance cameras at the event.

Speaking to the media, he highlighted that under the directive of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, efforts are being made to equip the city with CCTV cameras covering 80% of all areas to deter criminal activities and aid in identifying crimes, aiming to transform Coimbatore into a crime-free city. This initiative has seen the active participation of the public and industry professionals, significantly contributing to crime prevention.



Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner Saravanakumar also took part in a tree planting initiative in Netaji Nagar, emphasizing the police department's commitment to environmental sustainability alongside public safety.

The inauguration was attended by notable figures including Pothanur Circle Inspector Karikal Valaven Parai Shankar, and administrators of the Netaji Nagar Extension Residents Welfare Association - Jaffer, Ramachandran, Chidambaram, Jayachandran, Jayakumar, Sudhakar, along with numerous residents, all contributing to the event's success.
