Coimbatore City Students Receive IIT Madras Career Guidance Under Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabhakaran's Directive

Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabhakaran initiates a career guidance program under "IIT Madras for Everyone" project for municipal high school students, featuring insights into BS in Science at IIT Chennai.


Coimbatore: In an empowering move for the youth of Coimbatore, City Municipal Commissioner M.A. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, I.A.S., has overseen the launch of a comprehensive career guidance program aimed at municipal high school students. This initiative, part of the "Everyone to IIT Madras" project, was conducted at the Siddhapudur Central High School auditorium, targeting students of classes 11 and 12 who aspire to pursue higher education in science and technology.

The program, spanning three sessions, was graced by the participation of IIT Madras Project Coordinator Mr. N. Harikrishnan, who delivered a special lecture to the 1751 enthusiastic students from various municipal high schools across the city. The event aimed to illuminate the path to accessing premier engineering education, with a focus on the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree offered by IIT Chennai.

The students were introduced to a wide array of topics crucial for a future in data science and electronic systems, including but not limited to:

- Data Structures and Algorithms

- Machine Learning and Deep Learning

- Artificial Intelligence and Big Data

- Financial Forensics and Data Visualization

- Electronic Systems Thinking and Circuits

- Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Linux

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. S. Selvasurabi, City Education Officer Mr. Murugesan, school teachers, and numerous students attended the event, marking a significant step towards fostering a scientific temper and analytical skills among the city's youth.



This initiative is a testament to the local government's commitment to nurturing talent and providing students with the guidance needed to navigate their academic and career journeys effectively.
