TNAU’s Biogas Development and Training Centre conducts Staff training programme

The training programme was scheduled between 05.02.2024 and 08.02.2024 (4 days). The participants were the staff from District Rural Development Agency from 5 districts of Tamil Nadu.


Coimbatore: TNAU’s Biogas Development and Training Centre functioning at the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, AEC&RI organized Staff training programme on “Biogas Technology for Sustainable Fuel and Organic Manure” sponsored by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, New Delhi.



The training programme was scheduled between 05.02.2024 and 08.02.2024 (4 days). The participants were the staff from District Rural Development Agency from 5 districts of Tamil Nadu.



During the inaugural session held on 05.02.2024, Dr.D.Ramesh, Professor and Head cum coordinator-BDTC, Department of REE highlighted the significance of training programme in developing skilled staff in the field of biogas. Dr.A.Raviraj, Dean (Agrl.Engg.) inaugurated the training and motivated the trainees to pursue biogas technology as a pathway for achieving pollution free environment.



The training lectures were focused on design and construction of different types of biogas plants, Bio-digested slurry enrichment for organic manure management, alternate feedstock for biogas generation and production of bioethanol, thermo chemical conversion of biomass, briquetting technology, solar energy technologies for agro based industries, solar PV pumping system and demonstrated different renewable energy gadgets. The valedictory session of the training was held on 08.02.2024. Dr.D.Ramesh, Professor and Head, Department of REE welcomed the participants and Dr.A.Raviraj, Dean (Agrl.Engg.) congratulated the trainees on successful completion of the training. On a closing note, Dr.V.Palaniselvam, Associate Professor proposed the vote of thanks.
