Tamil Nadu-Kerala Police Officials Hold Coordination Meeting Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

In anticipation of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a coordination meeting between Tamil Nadu-Kerala police officials was held today (Feb. 19) to discuss smooth conduct of the elections and law and order issues in both states.


Coimbatore: A crucial coordination meeting between high-ranking police officials from Tamil Nadu and Kerala took place today (Feb. 19), focusing on the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Led by Tamil Nadu Western Region Police Chief K. Bhavani Swari, the meeting was held at the Coimbatore District Police Office. Discussions revolved around ensuring a smooth election process, addressing law and order issues prevalent in both states, and sharing intelligence information.

The meeting also delved into strategies for reducing the smuggling of banned substances and liquor between the two states, monitoring individuals who may incite violence and disrupt the electoral process, and setting up checkposts and temporary checkposts to prevent crimes at state borders during the election.

Present at the meeting were Coimbatore Rural Police Deputy Superintendent A. Saravanasundar, Thrissur Rural Police Deputy Superintendent Ajudha Begum, Coimbatore District Surveillance Officer V. Badrinayaran, Tirupur District Surveillance Officer Abhishek Gupta, Palakkad District Surveillance Officer Anand, Thrissur District Surveillance Officer Navneet Sharma, along with additional district superintendents, sub-divisional officers, and the Assistant Excise Commissioner.
