Tamil Thembu Festival Celebrates Tamil Nadu's Rich Cultural Heritage at Isha Yoga Centre

The Tamil Thembu festival, showcasing Tamil Nadu's cultural richness, is ongoing daily until March 17 at the Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore. The event features folk arts, Rekla race, a country cow fair, traditional food, and more.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Thembu Festival, a grand celebration of Tamil Nadu's ancient cultural heritage, is currently underway at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. This 9-day event, which follows Mahashivratri, promises a comprehensive exploration of Tamil culture, from spirituality and science to traditional sports and culinary delights.

The festival offers a myriad of activities and performances designed to showcase the vibrancy of Tamil life. Attendees can look forward to folk art performances, Rekla races, a country cow fair and market, and a traditional food festival. For those seeking adventure, horse and camel riding are available, along with the thrill of a Roller Coaster ride.

Daily from 10 am to 9 pm, the festival lights up with evening performances by celebrated folk artists from various towns across Tamil Nadu. The opening day, March 9, featured a captivating 'Salangai Attam' by a troupe from Tirupur at 6 pm. The festival also highlights 'Kailaya Vathyam' and 'Adiyogi Divya Darshanam,' a spectacular video mapping show on the face of Adiyogi.

The festival's schedule includes a drum performance by a group from Madurai tomorrow. The much-anticipated country cow market is set to run from March 15th to 17th, alongside a Rekla race on the final day, March 17th, promising a blend of excitement and cultural appreciation for all who attend.
