Awareness Program for First-Time Voters at Karpagam University, Coimbatore

An awareness program for first-time voters titled "My First Vote, My First Representative" was conducted at Karpagam University, Coimbatore, in collaboration with The Hindu Tamil Thisai, attended by Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS.


Coimbatore: A notable awareness program for first-time voters, named "My First Vote, My First Representative," took place today at Karpagam University, Coimbatore, on 21st March 2024. This event was a collaborative effort between the university administration and The Hindu Tamil Thisai management. The initiative aimed at enlightening first-time voters on the significance of their votes and how it represents their voice in the democracy.

The session was inaugurated by Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS, who is also the District Election Officer. He launched the awareness signature campaign, marking the beginning of this vital initiative. Following this, the first-time voters took an oath, committing to the responsible act of voting. The event saw participation from university officials, students, and representatives from The Hindu Tamil Thisai organization.



The program reflects the collaborative efforts in promoting electoral awareness among the youth, emphasizing the power and importance of each vote. It signifies a step towards empowering young voters, ensuring they understand the impact of their electoral participation on the future of democracy.
