GST Affected 60 Percent of Power Looms badly and BJP didn't listen: DMK Candidate Ganapathi Rajkumar

DMK's Coimbatore parliamentary candidate, Ganapathi Rajkumar, campaigned across multiple areas, addressing the closure of 60% of power looms due to GST implications, and promised to voice the local demands in Delhi.

Coimbatore: Today, Ganapathi Rajkumar, the victorious candidate from the Indian Alliance's DMK for the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency, took his campaign through areas including Karumathampatti, Kaniyur, Thennampalayam, Muthugoundenpudur, Rasipalayam, Arugampalayam, Madampur, Thottipalayam, Kumarapalayam, Sengaththurai, Kaadamapatty, and Kangayampalayam.

Addressing the significant issue of the closure of 60% of power looms due to the GST implemented by the Union government, Rajkumar criticized the lack of action over the past ten years. He assured that the grievances and demands of the people would reach Delhi if he were elected.

During a casual tea shop campaign in the Thennampalayam division, Rajkumar collected votes while engaging with the locals over tea. One woman highlighted the benefits she received, including a monthly bank deposit of Rs. 1000 and free bus travel, affirming her support for the rising sun symbol.

The campaign saw the participation of DMK's South District Secretary Thalapathi Murugesan, Election Officer Pa. Arunkumar, along with leaders from Congress, Makkal Needhi Maiam, Marxist party, Dravida Tamil Kazhagam, and other party union secretaries and members, underscoring a united front for the upcoming elections.
