Aatral Ashokkumar, the AIADMK candidate for the Erode Parliamentary constituency, campaigned in Kangayam, Tirupur district, criticizing the DMK government for stopping various welfare schemes and promoting anti-people policies.

Coimbatore: In an active campaign trail across Kangayam and its surrounding areas within the Erode Parliamentary constituency, AIADMK candidate Aatral Ashokkumar gathered support for the twin-leaf symbol.

The campaign, spearheaded in areas like Keeranoor and Savadipalayam, saw the participation of former Kangayam MLA N.S.N. Nataraj.During his speech, Ashokkumar voiced strong criticism against the current DMK government, accusing it of halting the implementation of welfare schemes initiated during "Amma's" (late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa) tenure. He mentioned the cessation of schemes like free laptops for students, bicycles, free goats and cows for the rural populace, and gold for marriage thalis, which significantly benefited the people of Tamil Nadu.

Ashokkumar condemned the DMK for engaging in activities that he described as detrimental to the people, including the alleged mixing of narcotics in candies targeting children, opening new liquor shops despite promises to the contrary, and increasing the burden on the public with hikes in basic taxes and property taxes without improving employment opportunities.

The event also saw the presence of AIADMK district deputy secretary Lakshmi Somasundaram, Maravapalayam Panchayat secretary P.K.P. Shanmugam, among other party officials, highlighting a collective effort to challenge the governance of the DMK and call for public support to bring about a change in the upcoming elections.
