Court Staff's Husband Attacked Near Vellakoil, Hospitalized Following a Scuffle

In Vellakoil, a dispute turned violent when Sakthivel, a husband of a court staff from Lakshmananpatti, was assaulted, resulting in severe head injuries. The police are investigating the case.


Coimbatore: A violent altercation occurred near Vellakoil in Tirupur district, when Sakthivel, the husband of a local court staff named Amutha, confronted two men accused of misbehaving with his wife Vidya.

Ramesh Kumar and Lokesh, the accused, allegedly retaliated with violence resulting in Sakthivel sustaining critical head injuries. The incident has sparked considerable tension within the community as allegations of harassment surfaced. According to sources, Sakthivel attempted to address the issue over the phone, which escalated to a physical confrontation when Ramesh and his associate, Lokesh, reportedly broke into Sakthivel’s home and assaulted him. The police were initially alerted and managed to caution Ramesh. However, later that evening, the situation deteriorated. Vidya reported fearing for their safety as the accused threatened her, claiming that no action would be taken due to his wife's courthouse employment.



The injured Sakthivel was rushed to the Kangayam Government Hospital for initial treatment and later transferred to Tirupur Medical College Hospital for further care. The police from Vellakoil station are currently investigating further into the assault and the preceding harassment complaints.
