Traffic Disrupted Due to Landslide at 16th Hairpin Bend in Valparai Following Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall in Valparai, Coimbatore district, caused a landslide at the 16th hairpin bend on the main road, blocking traffic and impacting transportation for over half an hour.


Coimbatore: Following the heavy rainfall yesterday afternoon in Valparai, Coimbatore district, boulders rolled down unexpectedly across the main road at the 16th hairpin bend near Attakatti.



This sudden landslide caused a major disruption, rendering the road impassable for buses and other vehicles. On receiving the information, the Highway Department acted swiftly to clear the boulders, quickly resuming traffic flow after more than half an hour of being halted.



The quick response helped in managing the situation without extending the disruption.
