Remarkable Rise in Solaiyar Dam Water Level Due to Recent Rains

The water level of Solaiyar Dam in Valparai has impressively increased from 3 feet in early May to 38.75 feet as of this morning, thanks to the ongoing rainfall.

Coimbatore: The Solaiyar Dam, located in Valparai, has experienced a significant increase in water levels following the recent rains. Officials from the Water Resources Department reported that while the water level was just 3 feet in the first week of May, it has surged to 38.75 feet as of 8 AM today. This rise comes as the Southwest Monsoon has begun in Kerala, prompting expectations that the dam will soon reach its full capacity and begin power generation. The news has brought joy to local farmers, anticipating more efficient water availability for irrigation.
