Tirupur: The ongoing temple festivities at the Sellandi Amman Temple in Kodingiyam village near Udumalai have captured the local spirit with a vibrant display of cultural and religious events.

The festival, which has been ongoing for the past two weeks, featured a series of activities such as the Kumbhabhishekam, various birth and annual celebratory events for deities, and the much-anticipated chariot festival.

Following these events, the night was marked by the grand 'Ponnar Shankar, Sri Pachai, and Sri Pavalaai Thirukalyanam' celebration, which started with an elaborate pooja and abhishekam for the festival idols in the evening.

This was succeeded by Ganapathi pooja, Suyamvara Parvathi Homam, and the Thirukalyanam, which were vividly brought to life through traditional folk story performances by Udumalai Sita Raman and team Siva. The event concluded with a community feast, which saw massive public participation, reinforcing the deep-rooted traditions and the strong sense of community in the area.
