Tamil Nadu Primary Teachers' Association Demonstrates in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Primary Teachers' Association held a protest at the Coimbatore District Collectorate on June 13, demanding the fulfillment of their requests and criticizing the Tamil Nadu government's actions.

Coimbatore: On June 13, members of the Tamil Nadu Primary Teachers' Association gathered in front of the Coimbatore District Collectorate for a demonstration. The protest aimed to voice discontent with the Tamil Nadu government and push for the implementation of teachers' demands.

The association highlighted the reduction in medical insurance coverage from 80-90% during the previous administration to only 30-40% under the current DMK government. They criticized the government for decreasing the benefits that were previously enhanced.

Teachers also disputed the shift from United India Insurance to MD India and Medi Assist for providing medical insurance, accusing the government of offering reduced benefits through these new providers.

Furthermore, the teachers threatened to escalate their agitation if their demand for free medical treatment is not met. Plans for a significant state-wide protest at the United India Insurance office on July 17 were announced, indicating a severe step up in their demonstrations against the Tamil Nadu government.
