Coimbatore: In a significant development following the promises made in the DMK's election manifesto, the Coimbatore district administration has identified four potential sites for constructing an international cricket stadium. The identified locations include areas near Bharathiar University, on L&T Bypass, Ondipudur, and the Central Jail Ground. These spots span across a substantial area of 20 acres each, catering to the requirements for a large scale international sports venue.

The Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin is expected to visit Coimbatore today to finalize the location for the cricket stadium. This move is seen as a step forward in bolstering the sports infrastructure in the region and promoting cricket at an international level. The selection process underscores the government's commitment to developing sports facilities as promised to the electorate.
