RED Taxi Operations Barred from Coimbatore International Airport Due to License Issues: Airport Director

RED Taxi operations at Coimbatore International Airport have been barred due to lack of proper licensing and failure to meet AAI tender requirements. This enforcement follows several notifications by the AAI headquarters.

Coimbatore: The Director of Coimbatore International Airport, Senthil Valavan, issued a statement regarding the operation of Red Taxi within airport premises. According to the Airport Authority of India (AAI), any business endeavor on AAI premises requires prior approval from a competent authority. The AAI holds the exclusive rights to establish commercial agreements within their managed areas.

Furthermore, the statement clarified that Red Taxi does not possess the necessary licenses to function as a cab aggregator in Tamil Nadu or any other region. This is an essential criterion as per the tender requisites, where a state government-issued license is mandatory to engage in tender processes. Despite multiple notifications from the AAI corporate headquarters, Red Taxi management has failed to procure the mandatory license. Consequently, they are legally prohibited from operating from airport premises, emphasizing the legality of the sanctions imposed on their operations.
