Coimbatore: Over 100 residents from Pappanaickenpalayam area submitted petitions for various government schemes and land-related issues during the Jamabandhi event held at the North Taluk office in Coimbatore on June 27, 2024. The event was led by K. Santi Chandran, the 41st ward council member of the Communist Party of India.

The petitioners sought assistance under various state government schemes, including the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, support for destitute elderly, widows, abandoned wives, differently-abled individuals, and elderly unmarried women. They also submitted applications for patta transfer, patta subdivision, land survey, and family card-related issues.

The Jamabandhi event, an annual administrative process to review land records and address public grievances, saw a significant turnout from the Pappanaickenpalayam area. The presence of a local political representative highlights the importance of such events in addressing grassroots-level concerns and facilitating access to government schemes for the local population.

Officials at the North Taluk office received the petitions and assured the residents that their requests would be processed according to government guidelines. This event underscores the ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between citizens and government services, especially for vulnerable sections of society.
