Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Cancels Postgraduate Entrance Exam

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has cancelled the postgraduate entrance exam held on June 23 due to administrative reasons. A full explanation will be provided at 10 AM today.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has cancelled the first-level postgraduate entrance examination conducted on June 23, 2023. The university administration cited administrative reasons for the cancellation.

According to a statement released by the university, complete information regarding the cancellation of the entrance exam will be provided at 10 AM today. This sudden announcement has left many aspiring students in a state of uncertainty.

Dr. Geetha Lakshmi, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, provided clarification on the issue. She explained that the exam was cancelled due to software issues and technical glitches. The Vice-Chancellor assured that a new date for the entrance exam would be announced within 10 days.

Dr. Geetha Lakshmi stated that the technical issues with the software would be resolved, and the exams would be conducted thereafter. She also mentioned that with undergraduate courses concluding in September, the postgraduate classes are scheduled to commence by the end of September.

The Vice-Chancellor reassured students that the admission process would not be delayed despite this setback. She emphasized that the university is working diligently to ensure a smooth and timely admission process for all eligible candidates.

This unexpected cancellation has highlighted the increasing reliance on technology in educational processes and the potential disruptions that can occur due to technical glitches. The incident serves as a reminder of the need for robust systems and backup plans in conducting crucial examinations.
