Tourists Allowed to Bathe in Panchalinga Falls Near Udumalpet

After a five-day ban due to heavy rains and flooding, tourists are now permitted to bathe in Panchalinga Falls near Udumalpet, Tirupur district. The ban was lifted as water flow stabilized.

Tirupur: The Panchalinga Falls, located in the forest area of Thirumoorthy Hills near Udumalpet in Tirupur district, has been a popular destination for tourists from various parts of Tamil Nadu. However, the recent heavy rains in the catchment areas of the falls led to flooding, prompting authorities to impose a ban on bathing for safety reasons.

The ban, which lasted for more than five days, was lifted today as the rainfall subsided and the water flow in the falls stabilized. This decision has brought joy to the tourists visiting the Panchalinga Falls.

The Forest Department officials had earlier restricted tourists from bathing in the falls due to the increased water flow and potential safety hazards. The continuous rainfall in the region had caused a surge in the water levels, making it unsafe for visitors to enter the water.

With the lifting of the ban, tourists can once again enjoy the natural beauty of Panchalinga Falls and take a refreshing dip in its waters. However, visitors are advised to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines provided by the local authorities.
