A 37-year-old man's burnt body was discovered in the kitchen of his house near Karumathampatti, Coimbatore. Police investigate possible suicide or accidental fire death.

Coimbatore: In a tragic incident near Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district, the charred remains of a 37-year-old man were discovered in the kitchen of his residence. The deceased has been identified as Sahaya Jeganraj, a resident of Chennappa Chettiputhur area.

Jeganraj, who had been living with his wife in the locality, was known to have a history of alcohol addiction. His excessive drinking habits led to frequent disputes with his wife, causing her to leave him a few months ago due to emotional distress.

On July 24, around 10 PM, neighbors noticed smoke emanating from Jeganraj's house. They immediately alerted the fire department. Fire and rescue personnel rushed to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze.

Upon entering the house, firefighters made the grim discovery of Jeganraj's charred body in the kitchen. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that Jeganraj might have set the house on fire while under the influence of alcohol, possibly with the intention of committing suicide.

However, the Karumathampatti Police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation to determine whether Jeganraj's death was a result of suicide or an accidental fire. The authorities are exploring all possible angles to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
