Commissioner Inspects Mayoral Election Preparations at Victoria Hall in Coimbatore

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran conducted an inspection of the preparations for the indirect mayoral election scheduled for August 6, 2024, at Victoria Hall in the main office complex.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran, who is also the election officer, conducted an inspection of the preparations for the upcoming indirect mayoral election on August 5. The election is scheduled to take place on August 6, 2024, at the Victoria Hall meeting arena within the main office complex of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation.

Commissioner Prabakaran, accompanied by corporation officials, thoroughly examined the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of the mayoral election. The inspection was aimed at ensuring all necessary measures are in place for the voting process.



During the inspection, the Commissioner was joined by Deputy Commissioner Dr. S. Selvasurabi, Assistant Commissioners Usharani and Mohanasundari (Administration), along with other corporation officials. The team reviewed various aspects of the election preparations, including seating arrangements, voting booths, and security measures.

The indirect mayoral election, where elected council members will cast their votes to choose the new Mayor of Coimbatore, is a crucial event for the city's administration. The thorough inspection and preparations underscore the importance of conducting a fair and organized electoral process.

As the election day approaches, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth and transparent voting experience for all participating council members at the historic Victoria Hall.
