Lakshmi IPS Takes Charge as 16th Police Commissioner of Tirupur City

Lakshmi IPS assumed office as the 16th Police Commissioner of Tirupur City today, emphasizing public safety and crime prevention as key priorities for the metropolitan area.


Coimbatore: Lakshmi IPS took charge as the 16th Police Commissioner of Tirupur City today, pledging to prioritize public safety in the metropolitan area. The appointment comes after the transfer of the previous commissioner, Praveen Kumar Abhinapu, to Salem last month.

Lakshmi, who previously served as IGP of the Armed Forces in Chennai, was appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Tirupur City. After assuming office, she addressed the media, outlining her plans for the city's law enforcement.



"Public safety in Tirupur City will be given utmost importance," Lakshmi stated. She announced that regular inspections would be conducted throughout the metropolitan areas to implement measures to prevent criminal activities. The new commissioner also emphasized that steps would be taken to control substance abuse in the city.

Lakshmi's appointment marks a new chapter in Tirupur's law enforcement, with a focus on enhancing public security and tackling key issues affecting the city's residents.
