Businessman's House Near Peelamedu in Coimbatore Robbed of 43 Sovereigns of Jewelry and Cash

A house in Cheran Managar, Peelamedu was burgled on August 3rd while the owners were away. Thieves made off with 43 sovereigns of gold jewelry and Rs. 1.5 lakhs in cash.


Coimbatore: In a brazen daylight robbery, burglars broke into a businessman's house near Peelamedu and made off with gold jewelry and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The incident occurred while the family was away visiting their ancestral temple.

Monish Rajan, 27, son of Selvaraj from Cheran Managar, Peelamedu, runs a plastic company in Tiruvannamalai. On August 3rd, Monish and his mother left their rented house securely locked to visit their family deity temple in Dharapuram.

Upon their return on August 4th, they were shocked to find the front door lock broken. Inside, they discovered that their cupboard had been ransacked. The thieves had stolen 43 sovereigns of gold jewelry and Rs. 1,50,000 in cash.

Monish Rajan immediately filed a complaint with the Peelamedu Police Station. Inspector Tamilarasu has registered a case and initiated an investigation into the burglary.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety of unoccupied houses in the area, especially during festive seasons when families often travel. Police have advised residents to inform their local stations before leaving their homes unattended for extended periods.
