Coimbatore: Minister S. Muthusamy launched six awareness campaign vehicles against disposable plastic on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board for Coimbatore district. The event took place on August 6 at the Coimbatore District Collector's office, where the Minister flagged off the vehicles in the presence of District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.

The campaign aims to create awareness about the health and environmental impacts of plastic usage. With the slogan "Let's avoid plastic and use cloth bags," the initiative seeks to promote a plastic-free Tamil Nadu. The campaign vehicles are equipped with speakers to disseminate information and raise awareness among the public.

In an eco-friendly move, the campaign vehicles are entirely electric, aligning with pollution control measures. This initiative emphasizes the importance of switching from plastic to paper and cloth bags, encouraging the public to make environmentally conscious choices in their daily lives.

The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board hopes that this awareness campaign will effectively communicate the harmful effects of plastic and motivate citizens to adopt sustainable alternatives. By promoting the use of cloth and paper bags, the campaign aims to reduce plastic pollution and contribute to a cleaner, greener Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu.
