Traffic Diversions in Coimbatore Ahead of Chief Minister's Visit Tomorrow

Coimbatore: In preparation for the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu's visit on August 9, 2024, Coimbatore is set to experience significant traffic changes. The Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Tamil Puthalvan Scheme at the Government Arts College and open the Ukkadam High-Level Bridge.

Due to the anticipated arrival of the Chief Minister and other dignitaries via Avinashi Road, the police have announced alternative routes for the public to avoid congestion. Vehicles usually traveling through Avinashi Road are advised to use Gandhipuram Mettupalayam Road, 100 Feet Road through Ganapathy, Saravanampatti, and then Kalapatti Road to reach their destinations.

Further diversions include:

- Vehicles from Pollachi and Palakkad can use Oppanakara Street, Poomarket, and D.B. Road towards Mettupalayam.

- From Ramanathapuram and Sungam area, vehicles heading towards Palakkad and Pollachi will be redirected from Sungam Junction through Walayar, Ukkadam Junction, Karumbukadai, and Athupalam.

In addition, heavy vehicles are prohibited within the city limits of Coimbatore from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety. The public and vehicle operators are requested to cooperate with these temporary arrangements to facilitate an orderly commute during the Chief Minister's visit.
